Whether you’re just getting started on your journey or you have already been working with an ED therapist, nutrition and learning how to eat without judgement are important pieces of your recovery.
What to expect:
- Please be prepared to provide your dietitian with any existing care plans with other medical providers
- You will be supported, never judged, and listened to at each appointment in a safe and understanding environment
- You will be asked to communicate your needs, preferences and eating disorder history with your dietitian so she can best support your recovery process
- We may suggest a laboratory blood panel to measure nutritional status or recommend you see your doctor for medical clearance for outpatient treatment
- Blind weigh-ins as a way of monitoring the safety and nutritional status of the patient without impacting the recovery process
- Sumner may request regular communication plan with parents of minors or caretakers
- Sumner may request permission to communicate with other health care providers regarding the patient’s care plan and progress
